He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, which he fought with dignity for more than 8 years, defying the odds. \n\nMarcel was born in Toronto, the son of Jules Boyer & Yolande Chouinard, Montrealers who had moved to Ontario in search of greater opportunities. The family returned to Montreal, eventually settling in Ville Saint-Laurent where Marcel pursued a variety of personal and professional interests with passion and integrity. \n\nHe dedicated his time to his daughters Cristine and Cynthia, who will remember their father for his presence, generosity, sense of humour and care.\n\nAt family gatherings, he would often be seen behind a camcorder, leaving us with countless hours of footage. He enjoyed long bike rides, snowshoeing in nature and history. \n\nIn 2017, Marcel founded \"Montreal Past and Present\", a popular online community dedicated to the photos and history of his beloved hometown.
