She practiced law at the Legal Aid office in Sainte-Agathe, then in Saint-J\u00e9r\u00f4me, before returning to school once more to complete a Master's degree in Health Law at the Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke. This allowed her to combine her two careers by becoming the legal advisor for the Ordre des infirmi\u00e8res et infirmiers du Qu\u00e9bec, a position she held for many years. \nSocially involved, particularly in the area of housing rights, Claudette founded La Chaumi\u00e8re des Monts in Sainte-Agathe, a non-profit organization that enabled the construction of an apartment building for families, seniors, and low-income households. She also chaired the Association des locataires du Village olympique, notably spearheading civil actions that resulted in compensation for damages suffered by hundreds of residents of this vast and famous heritage real estate complex. \n\nA lover of the outdoors, swimming, sailing, and golf, and an epicurean who appreciated good food and fine wine, she particularly enjoyed good conversation and laughter.
