Roy, in Qu\u00e9bec City on September 17, 2026, at the age of 61.<\/p>\nHe leaves to mourn his daughter No\u00e9mie, whom he loved deeply and who held a unique place in his heart; his grandchildren, L\u00e9anne and Julien; M\u00e9lanie, No\u00e9mie\u2019s mother and his loyal friend, who, together with her family, always welcomed him as one of their own; his brother Didier and his niece Charlotte; as well as Daniel and Brigitte, who meant a great deal to him, along with many other relatives and friends.\n\nGifted with broad knowledge, a remarkable memory, and great sensitivity, Martin had a humour all his own. Passionate about history, he knew\u2014with astonishing precision\u2014the dates, events, and figures that shaped the world, with a particular interest in Qu\u00e9bec, to which he was deeply attached.\n\nHis quick mind, curiosity, and gift for commenting on current events notably shaped his path in journalism and politics\u2014two fields that deeply interested him.\n\nIn accordance with his wishes, a farewell ceremony will be held at a later date, in private.\n\nMay you finally find peace and gentleness, Martin. May your memory remain within us like a horizon opening onto the majestic St. Lawrence River that you loved so much.\n\nThose who wish to honour his memory may make a donation to the Service d\u2019entraide Basse-Ville (SEBV), in Qu\u00e9bec City, a charitable organization that supports people in vulnerable situations.
