Mary Whelton Lewis

Mary Perpetua Whelton Lewis (Mary Wee) was born on June 15, 1935. She was the daughter of Edward (Ned) Whelton and Mary Louise (May) Thompson Whelton, and the youngest of seventeen children.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne and Mary Jo; her son, Melvin (Jinhee Baek); her six grandchildren, Alyssa (Shawn), Jacob, Sara, Bruce, Cassandra, and Jay; and her six great-grandchildren, Roman, Eva, Noah, Oliver, Ben, and Keira.

Mary loved her family fiercely, including all members of her extended family. She was the last surviving sibling and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held in LaSalle on June 26, 2026, at St. Jean Brébeuf, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception.

Her memorial service will be held on July 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Simon and St. Jude Church in Grande-Anse, N.B. A reception will follow at the Pokeshaw and Black Rock Recreation Community Center in Pokeshaw, N.B.
