It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Trottier on September 28, 2025 at the age of 69. Peter lost his short but fierce fight against cancer at the Shawville Hospital.

Peter was born in Hull, Quebec, on January 19 1956, and now has reunited with his loving mother Evelyn Gibson and his father Laurent Trottier. Peter was the devoted life partner of Debbie Barker, and a cherished stepfather to Kala, Daniel (Josee) and Sarah. He was a proud and loving Poppy to Deven (Joanie), Kyana (Garret), Jordan, Brooklyn, Keira, and Irish, he will be fondly remembered by 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He leaves behind his brother Claude (Vicky) and Robert (Lise) and Claire (late René) and Theresa (Luc). He was predeceased by his brother Alex, Richard, Garry and Laurier.
Peter had a deep love for the outdoors and was a passionate hunter. He also enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his loved ones. His humor, warmth, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honour on October 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Gavan’s in Quyon. Family and friends are invited to come together to share memories and celebrate Peter’s life.
