In Gatineau, on the morning of March 31, 2025, Michel peacefully left this world.
Michel was a unifying presence, never hesitating to share his time with anyone in need. Passionate about art, history, and science, he embodied curiosity. Whether by a riverbank or busy applying the final blue stroke to a watercolor, his sense of wonder was contagious to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his spouse Sylvie Saint-Amour, who tirelessly accompanied him until the end, his children: François-Akio Côté, Clémence Dumas-Côté, and Rosalie Dumas, his grandchildren: Adèle, Rufus, Élia, Léa, Zola, Cléo, Blanche, and Saule, his brothers: Pierre and Richar, as well as numerous relatives and friends, including Félicia Cavalieri, Nicole-Alexe Dumas, Julie Cavalieri-Lessard, and France Bélanger, who watched over him and supported his spouse during the last year.
