Robert Charbonneau

It is with heavy hearts, yet filled with precious memories, that we announce the passing of Robert Charbonneau, who passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at the palliative care unit of Santa Cabrini Hospital, at the age of 74.

Robert passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. His zest for life and his great generosity of spirit will forever remain etched in our memories.

He leaves behind in deep sorrow his beloved partner of the last 40 years, Ginette Legris, his cherished daughter Véronique (Éric Bressani), Benoît Charbonneau (Josiane Goyer), his grandchildren Lauralie, Jade, Charlotte, Romain, Nomie, and Nogan, as well as his great-granddaughter Layla.

He is also mourned by his brothers and sisters Daniel, Christianne, Patrice, and Patricia, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, his nephews and nieces, his close relatives from the Defoy and Legris families, his ex-wife Denis Rivard, and the friends who shared his journey.

A special thought for his dear friends Lyne Bricault and Alain Raymond, as well as for his brother and sister at heart, Réjean and Michelle Defoy.

Robert desired simplicity. According to his wishes, his ashes will later be scattered in the Saguenay Fjord, in La Baie, during a special ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Santa Cabrini Hospital Foundation would be appreciated, a cause particularly dear to his daughter and son-in-law.
