Annie La Bastille

It was in a room at the Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec – Université Laval, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, that Annie La Bastille passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, at the age of 77.

Born in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli and a resident of L’Ancienne-Lorette for over 40 years, she led a quiet life divided between her three daily walks (her tan was proof of it), her puzzles, and her volunteer work for the Société de généalogie de Québec.

She is survived by her daughter Julie, her beloved grandchildren Noah and Élora (kisses to her two little ones!), her brothers and sisters René, Jacques, Mario, Geneviève (Conrad), and Lucie (Luc), as well as all her nephews, nieces, and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Saturday, November 7.
The interment of the ashes will take place at the Sous-les-Étoiles cemetery in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli, the village of her childhood to which she was so attached (see below for full details).

In lieu of flowers, you are invited to make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. Thanks to research, we were able to enjoy 20 more years of Annie’s presence—a model of determination, generosity, and humility.
