It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Filomeno Addona, which occurred on August 28, 2026, at the age of 78.
Having left his native village of Pontelandolfo, Italy, to build a new life in Canada, he planted solid roots there through his hard work and infinite love for his family.
Those who knew him will remember his passion for nature and hunting, but also his deeply curious spirit. He was passionate about history, interested in a multitude of subjects, and loved to animate discussions. He cultivated a beautiful voluntary simplicity, finding his happiness in genuine things and precious moments spent with the people he cherished.
A protective father and devoted grandfather, he leaves his children and grandchildren a precious legacy made of love and shared stories. Through his example, he passed on to us the most beautiful of values: that of family.
He leaves a great void in the hearts of his wife Giuseppina, his children Adriana, Claudia and Sabrina, his grandchildren Maël, Melina and Mila, as well as a grandchild to come, not to mention numerous relatives, friends and paesani.
According to his wishes, there will be no visitation.
A memorial mass celebrating his life will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church. Relatives and friends will then be welcomed by the family to offer their condolences.
