At Saint-François d’Assise Hospital, on October 26, 2025, on the eve of his 88th birthday, Me Ghislain Levasseur passed away, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was the son of the late Mr. Albert Levasseur and the late Mrs. Lucille Paris and resided in Québec City.
He leaves to mourn his beloved, Mrs. Militha Gauthier; his daughters: Marie-Josée, Stéphanie (Tom Kao) and Karine (Richard Landry), as well as their mother, Francine Côté; and his grandchildren: Justine Cournoyer, Libra Levasseur, Alexandre Kao and Charlotte Kao.
He also leaves to mourn his 3 sisters, Micheline, Andrée and Jacqueline, as well as several cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother Jean-Guy and his sisters Suzanne and Denise.
He made his mark within the legal community in the field of banking law and insolvency.
Before embarking on his legal career, Me Levasseur served as an officer in the Canadian Army (R.C.A.), militia, reserve, and the Canadian Navy (R.C.N.). He was appointed Honorary Colonel (Hon. Col.) of the Army on July 22, 1994.
His integrity, his humanism, and his love of horticulture and life remain a source of inspiration for those who knew him.
Posthumously, Me Levasseur wishes to express, from the bottom of his heart, his gratitude to all those who, near or far, colleagues and friends, shared a moment of his life. Your presence, your esteem and your friendship enriched his journey and nurtured his commitment to others.
