In Montréal, on August 24, 2026, Mrs. Ghislaine Patenaude passed away at the age of 71.
She leaves to mourn her two daughters, Emmanuelle (Aaron Basdeo) and Geneviève (Dominic Gélinas), her sister-in-law Thérèse Tousignant (the late Gilbert Patenaude), her sisters Micheline (Marc-André St-Martin), Marielle (Rosaire Jean), Diane (Pierre Tremblay) and Francine (Charles English), her brothers François and André, her nieces and nephews, as well as her friends, including her very dear Lucille Vermette.
Ghislaine was a creative person, deeply devoted to her family and to life’s simple pleasures, never hesitating to use a biting sense of humour under the guise of kindness. Her passing closes a precious “chapter” of our life!

Acknowledgements
My sister and I would like to thank everyone who offered a thought or a gesture for our mother.
Whether by supporting her as she came to terms with her diagnosis of rapidly progressing cancer—she who shone during her last year of life at Résidence Les Deux Aires;
Whether by being present in her life, almost every morning, via webcam;
Whether by inviting her to an impromptu family party where the desserts were filled with memories;
Whether through text-message exchanges read at her hospital bedside;
Whether by emptying her studio through many back-and-forth car trips;
Whether by receiving her final confidences or offering her comforting food;
We will not forget what mattered to her… and to the two of us!
Emmanuelle and Geneviève
