It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Mario Lafontaine, who left this world peacefully at his home in Shawinigan on May 8, 2025, at the age of 68. A man of heart, he was a loving father, a loyal friend, and a man whose kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him.
Mario was known for his gentleness, his patience, and his comforting smile. His reassuring presence and attentive listening made him a pillar for his family and loved ones. His benevolence, his sense of humor, and his ability to always see the bright side of things will remain engraved in our hearts.
He leaves to mourn:
• His children: Kassandra Lafontaine (Kaven Kègle-Mélançon), Pascal Lafontaine (Vicky Drolet)
• His grandchildren: Nikola Lafontaine, Daren Kègle-Mélançon, Megan Kègle-Mélançon, and Ayden Lafontaine
• His sisters: Lynda Lafontaine, Sylvie Lafontaine (Jean Brouillette)
• His brothers: Guy Lafontaine (Guylaine Gingras), Claude Lafontaine
As well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunt, uncle, and many friends.
Mario, you will remain forever in our hearts.
