Maureen Ann Jocelyne Newton

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Maureen Ann Jocelyne Newton on October 26, 2025 in Montreal at the age of 79 after many years of declining health.

Maureen was an identical twin to Margaret who recently passed away on November 14, 2025. Maureen loved music and rock and roll. She and her twin were the envy of many as they rock and rolled together on the dance floor throughout their teens to the music of Elvis and the Beatles!

Maureen worked as an executive assistant, her last employer being the University of Ottawa. She was a devoted employee who always gave more than 100%. Maureen moved to Ottawa from Montreal to look after her mother who was living in an assisted living accommodation. She always put everyone else first before looking after her own needs.

She was smart, beautiful and the life of the party! Maureen is deeply mourned by her two sons, Mark and Sean, grandson, Anthony, the apple of her eye, her brothers, Paul (Annette) and Peter (Audrey) and sisters, Louise (Tim) and Grace (Craig) and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, many cousins and her dear aunt Gisele and uncle Rosaire and her best friend, Betty. Rest in Peace, Maureen. We love you!
