Miguel Angel Callaci Leguizamón

It is with immense and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Miguel Callaci, in Boucherville, on February 6, 2026, at the age of 78.

He leaves to mourn his children: Estrella, Alex (Audrey Laroche), Luis (Candelaria Vidaña Elvira), Diego (Laurinda Juma), as well as his partner, Colette Cousineau. He was married to Danièle Trottier, Alex, Luis and Diego’s mother, from 1987 until her passing in 2016. He was also the father of the late Sol Callaci, as well as the grandfather of Alice Aendekerk and of the late Danièle Callaci Trottier, daughter of Diego and Laurinda.

To us, he was a caring father, always full of good advice, our best friend. But he was also: a caring and loving partner and husband; a passionate music lover and fine connoisseur of classical music; an outstanding tango dancer; a “mischievous” storyteller of tales and jokes; a man of the theatre, he was also a photographer and videographer when he was not himself in front of the camera as an actor. In short, a man of great rigor, constantly in search of quality.

Miguel Callaci was “The man who wove connections,” because he had the incredible gift of creating enriching relationships with everyone who knew him. He knew how to nurture these bonds of friendship through his empathy, attention to detail and extraordinary sense of humour, as well as his vast knowledge and immense general curiosity.

We are deeply proud to be his children, and we commit, with honour, to passing on in turn the beautiful values that were instilled in us.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to his partner, Colette Cousineau, for holding his hand every day and loving him unconditionally, in the last years marked by illness. We also wish to express our profound gratitude to all members of the Cousineau family who showed tremendous support through this difficult ordeal, notably Colette’s children, Ludvick and Annie, as well as their families, who demonstrated great empathy.

We also wish to express our profound gratitude to all the staff at the Varennes CLSC who supported him through this difficult stage, notably: his nurse, Annie Claveau, social worker Amélie Roy, as well as Dr. Josée Mercier.

Lastly, we thank all those who showed their friendship toward Miguel and who helped him throughout his life and, in particular, through this very difficult final ordeal.
