Norman Descheneaux

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Descheneaux, who died at Joliette Hospital on February 27, 2025. He had been suffering from multiple myeloma.

Beloved husband of Diane Desrosiers; eldest son of the late Édouard Descheneau and the late Albertine Vignola; brother of Harold, Eddy, and Jean; brother-in-law of Michou and Stéphane Desrosiers, Rose-Aline D’Amour, Jeannette Paradis, and Hélène Morin; uncle of Vincent Desrosiers, Julie, Philippe, Samuel, and Amélie Descheneaux; friend of recent years to Henriel, Élaine and Louis, Diane and Claude, Serge.

In accordance with Norman’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
Next summer, the family will scatter his ashes in the river at Pointe-au-Père, his birthplace.

He is the author of the novels: Fou de Cornélia, Rosaire Bontemps, Le Bière étrangère, and Le Vent de Keewatin (unpublished).
